COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police on Friday said a wound a man suffered the night before was not from a bullet but from something else.

The Columbia Police Department reported Thursday night that a man was shot in the hand in the 1200 block of Larch Court around 9 p.m. However, CPD said in a release Friday that the wound wasn't from a bullet.

However, they didn't say what caused the wound. Police said Friday that they found no gunshot victims.

CPD spokeswoman Jenny Hopper said Thursday night at the scene that police detained two people but could not confirm if they were involved in the incident.

An ABC 17 News reporter saw at least eight Columbia police officers and crime scene tape was put up on the street near residences.
