MARIES COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 53-year-old Vienna man suffered serious injuries in a crash Wednesday in Maries County on Highway 63, about two miles south of Vienna, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The crash occurred as a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado – driven by James Pierce, 44, of Dixon – was heading eastbound, failed to yield and hit a 2010 Honda motorcycle, according to the report. Joseph Briscoe was ejected from the Honda and suffered serious injuries. He was flown to University Hospital in Columbia, the report states.

A University Hospital spokesman told ABC 17 News in a Wednesday afternoon email that Briscoe was in critical condition.

The report states Briscoe was wearing a helmet and Piece was wearing a seatbelt. The Honda was totaled, while the Chevrolet had moderate damage.
