Chiefs’ fans, players, political figures and more share experiences and sentiments after Kansas City Chiefs’ parade shooting

Following a shooting at the Super Bowl Rally at Union Station in Kansas City that left one person dead and 22 people hurt, multiple officials, fans, Chiefs' players and more have taken to social media to share sentiments and express their feelings.
The shooting has gained national and international attention, with the hashtag #ChiefsParade remaining in the top trending topics since the incident took place, with multiple people sharing their thoughts on the situation and videos taken at Union Station.
Governor Parson took to X, formally Twitter, on Wednesday releasing a statement stating him and First Lady Parson were at Union Station when shots fired off and are safe and secure. They also expressed sympathies to the victims and thanked the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kansas City Police Department and security officers for their speedy reaction time to the situation.

About two hours later, the Kansas City Chiefs also released a statement to multiple social media platforms, stating their sadness over the events outcomes, sending their moral support to those affected and thanking law enforcement. They also verify that all players, coaches, staff and their families were safe.

Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a DJ for radio station KKFI, died after being shot during the rally. The radio station took to Facebook to grieve the loss of Lopez-Galvan.
"It is with sincere sadness and an extremely heavy and broken heart that we let our community know that KKFI DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan, host of Taste of Tejano lost her life today in the shooting at the KC Chiefs' rally. Our hearts and prayers are with her family. We encourage anyone who feels they saw something to reach out to law enforcement at 816 234 5111. This senseless act has taken a beautiful person from her family and this KC Community," read the post.
At 9:24 p.m. Wednesday, President Joe Biden released a statement on X, giving condolences to those in Kansas City, as well as victims of a school shooting in Atlanta that also occurred on Wednesday where four students were wounded, and also a shooting in Washington D.C. that left three police officers injured.

In the post, Biden calls for action and for the American people to stand with him in banning assault weapons, limiting high-capacity magazines, increasing strength of background checks and to "keep guns out of the hands of those who have no business owning them."
Videos currently circulating on X show crowds rushing away from the Rally as shots rang out. Videos and photos of those allegedly involved in the shooting are also gaining traction on the platform.
Union Station also said due to the circumstances and the ongoing investigation, it will be closed Thursday and will reopened Friday.
Out of respect for the victims, families and an ongoing investigation in the surrounding area, Union Station will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, February 15, with plans to reopen Friday morning, February 16.

This is currently an ongoing investigation. The Kansas City Police Department and the FBI are asking anyone with information to reach out. If you or someone you know directly witnessed the shooting, has a video of the shooting or a victim of the shooting who has not reported being shot to contact a dedicated line at 816-413-3477. There is also an online FBI database where you can submit videos and photos of the shooting and videos of shooters fleeing the scene.
