The first big winter storm of the season hit Mid-Missouri this week.
The storm prompted Columbia Public Schools and other districts to cancel classes -- either in-person or altogether -- after several hours of snow put slush on the roads as students were heading home Monday. More snow was expected overnight into Tuesday.
