Lincoln University Board of Curators set to discuss renovation budget for Dawson Hall

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Lincoln University Board of Curators, Budget and Financial Committee and Building and Grounds Committee will meet Wednesday to approve the budget to renovate the schools largest residence hall, Dawson Hall.

The board and committees will meet at Young Hall room 201 at 3:00 p.m.

According to the university, the project cannot exceed $17 million and is set to be completed by spring of 2025.

Back in September, the university approved the renovations and to seek out bids for construction.

S.M. Wilson & Co. was chosen to manage the Dawson Hall renovation project.

Dawson Hall is the largest residence hall on campus. It will have 364 dorm rooms and make the building compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Many dorm rooms on each floor of the 10-story building will be renovated. Shared bathrooms on each floor will also be updated to fit ADA standards.

The university says the renovations will not cause any street closures.

Even though the discussions will take place today, the full board of curators will not vote on the Dawson Hall items on the agenda until Thursday.
