Mizzou football potential bowl game contenders, 2023 game attendance increased
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
After a successful football season for the University of Missouri Tigers, Mizzou could be heading to a New Year's Six Bowl Game.
The bowl game announcement will take place at 1:30 p.m. Sunday on ESPN after the semi-finals are analyzed.
The #9 ranked Tigers had one of their most successful seasons in quite some time. That ranking is the Tigers' highest ranking in the college football era since 2014.
The Mizzou Tigers closed out their season with ten wins and two losses. Only losing to LSU and the #1 ranked Georgia.
Mizzou won six games by at least two touchdowns and only lost one home game.
And with that successful season, fans have shown nothing but support for the team.
This season there were five consecutive sellout home games, making this the most since 1980.
Total attendance for all home games this season was 421,184, making it a 10.4% increase in attendance since 2022.
The highest attendance increase in the SEC for the second year in a row.
Since 2018 home game attendance has gone up 16.5%, making it the highest increase in the SEC and number five among the Power 5 Programs.
Last season the Tigers overall had six wins and seven losses, including their loss to Army in the Armed Forces Bowl.
