Jefferson City man charged with sodomy in Callaway County

NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man was charged Monday with two counts of first-degree sodomy and first-degree harassment.

Patrick Joseph Lutz, 35, is being held in the Callaway County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim and Lutz were at a campsite and Lutz would not leave her alone. The victim locked herself in a bathroom and Lutz allegedly kept texting and talking to her.

Lutz allegedly told her he was leaving and the victim eventually left the bathroom. Lutz then allegedly sexually assaulted her. The two eventually went into a truck that Lutz was driving, according to the probable cause statement, and he allegedly would not allow the victim to leave.

The victim then jumped out of the truck when it slowed down, the statement says. Lutz was at a gas station in Ashland when the victim met with law enforcement. Lutz’s truck was identified because it was “loud.”

 The probable cause statement says Lutz is currently on probation. He pleaded guilty to unlawful gun possession and possession of a controlled substance on May 3, 2021. He was sentenced to five years of supervised probation with a four-year suspended sentence.
