A Moberly man has been arrested and charged after allegedly attacking a pregnant woman.

Tauriuan Boyd, 31, is charged with second-degree domestic assault, second-degree kidnapping and tampering with a witness. He is being held at the Randolph County Jail on a $15,000 bond, according to Casenet. A court date has not been set.

Moberly police responded to a domestic abuse call Tuesday. A woman allegedly told police she and Boyd had an argument outside of a Burger King and he hit her multiple times outside the restaurant, according to the probable cause statement. The couple left and went back to Moberly.

The woman allegedly told police they continued to argue, Boyd pulled over the vehicle they were traveling in and threatened to kill her, the statement says. Boyd allegedly tried to push the woman out of the vehicle. The woman tried to leave the vehicle when the vehicle was stopped at a red light, but was choked and hit multiple times, the statement says.

The woman then allegedly told police that Boyd pushed her when they went inside the residence. Law enforcement observed multiple injuries to her head and face, as well as scratches described as “fresh” in the probable cause statement. She was brought to an area hospital by ambulance.

Boyd allegedly denied a physical altercation and claimed the two were arguing over dishes. Boyd told police that he told the woman to get out of his car at one point, according to the probable cause statement. He allegedly told police he had not hit the woman in over a month.

Another woman told law enforcement that Boyd was contacting her after he was brought to the jail and allegedly told someone on social media to contact the judge, the probable cause statement says.
