Mother, daughter hurt in UTV crash in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A UTV crash in Montgomery County sent a mother and daughter to the hospital.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Bethel Church Road north of Booth Road at 5:35 p.m. Saturday.

Troopers said the UTV driven by 46-year-old Sharron Johns of Charlestown, Indiana was going too fast for conditions when turning onto a private road..

The UTV then began to skid, overcorrected and overturned onto its side, ejecting John's 12-year-old daughter.

Johns was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries.

Her 12-year-old daughter was taken to an unknown hospital with minor injuries, according to Troopers.

Both Johns and her daughter were not wearing a helmet or seatbelt at the time of the crash, the Highway Patrol said.
