MILLER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Miller County prosecutors charged two people with drug trafficking after a search of a vehicle found methamphetamine, fentanyl and controlled substance pills.

According to a press release from the Miller County Sheriff's Office, Anthony Mitchell, 45, and Jassi Chambers, 36, both of Lake Ozark, are each charged with two counts of second-degree drug trafficking and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

The Miller County Sheriff's Office said just after 6:00 p.m. Monday, deputies and members of the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop in the area of U.S. Highway 54 and Route FF.

During the stop, deputies say factors led them to believe Mitchell and Chambers were involved in criminal activity.

Chambers was found to have a noticeable bulge in her waistline, which was later discovered to be a methamphetamine-smoking pipe, according to deputies.

The Sheriff's Office says during a search of the vehicle they found 35 grams of methamphetamine, 13 capsules suspected of containing fentanyl and additional controlled substance pills were found that were not prescribed to the two.

Mitchell is being held in the Miller County Jail without bond.

Chambers has a $200,000 surety bond.
