Moberly police investigating two armed robberies

MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Moberly police are investigating after two armed robberies were reported in the area.

According to Moberly Police, the first incident happened June 14. near the intersection of Windsor Place and Fisk Ave.

The victim told police they were approached by a black man who pulled put a gun and demanded money. The man then took the victim's wallet and ran from the area.

The most recent incident took place Saturday evening on the 600 block of West Coates St.

In a press release, Moberly Police said the victim in the incident said they were sitting in their car when a black man approached their vehicle.

The suspect then allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money.

After a brief struggle, the victim told police the man ran from the area and shot a round from the handgun into the victim's vehicle.

Moberly Police said they conducted a search of the area with the help of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's K-9, but were unable to find the suspect.

The suspect is described as approximately 6 ft. tall, slender built black man and is considered to be armed and dangerous, according to Moberly Police.

Police are encouraging residents who live in the area of West Coates St. to check their video surveillance system from around 10:15 p.m. Saturday.

If residents find their video surveillance system captured anything to be important or if anyone has any information about the two incidents you are asked to contact Moberly Police.
