A Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputy was sent to the 7400 block of North Brown Station Road in Columbia on Saturday after a Centralia man allegedly pointed a gun at someone’s chest.

Johnnie Creason Jr., 50, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and armed-criminal action. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond.

He appeared in court Tuesday by video from the jail. A confined docket hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at the Boone County Courthouse. A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14.

The probable cause statement says there was an argument about a “civil property” issue. Creason allegedly pulled a gun from his pocket and placed it on the victim’s chest and threatened to shoot.

The victim stated he was fearful that Creason would return. The probable cause statement says Creason has personal property at the residence, which was allegedly agreed by him, the landlord and the victim.

Creason allegedly made threats to shoot the victim if he was at the property again. The victim is allegedly going to live in the residence in the near future, according to the probable cause statement.
