Woman killed in Morgan County crash on Christmas Eve

MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Florence, Missouri, woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash Saturday in Morgan County on U.S. 50 west of Lewis Drive, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Kristan Price, 26, died in the crash. She was declared dead at the scene and taken to Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home.

The crash occurred after Price's 2007 Ford Focus traveled into the westbound lanes and hit a 2022 GMC Sierra driven by Trenton Overhue, 37, of Nixa.

Overhue’s vehicle went off the south side of the roadway.

Price’s vehicle returned to the eastbound lanes and began to skid. The Ford traveled into the westbound lanes again and hit a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Layne Fischer, 28, of Warrensburg.

Price’s car overturned and stopped on the north side of the roadway.

Fischer suffered minor injuries, according to the Highway Patrol. He was taken to Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia by ambulance.

The Ford and the Chevrolet were totaled. The GMC had extensive damage, according to the Highway Patrol.
