Columbia man arrested, faces several charges
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man was arrested Thursday afternoon in relation to an outstanding warrant, according to a Boone County Sheriff's Office spokesman.
A Boone County Sheriff's deputy had received information that Justin Martin, 24, was in a vehicle near the 4000 block of Interstate 70 Drive SE.
Martin had a warrant for first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm and second-degree assault. It stems from an alleged incident on July 6, when Martin was accused of hitting someone in the face with a gun and allegedly robbing them in the 5600 block of Clearview Road. No bond was set for those charges.
The deputy stopped a vehicle matching a description they were given. The vehicle was stopped and Martin got out and ran away. He was arrested in a nearby residential area. Martin allegedly had methamphetamine and brass knuckles, according to the spokesman.
Martin was charged Thursday with resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance - 35 grams or less and unlawful possession of a weapon. A $10,000 bond was set for those charges. He is being held at the Boone County Jail.
An arraignment for both cases was held Friday afternoon at the Boone County Courthouse.
