Two dead after crash in Moniteau County

MONITEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two people were killed in a crash in Moniteau County Saturday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 6:58 p.m.

Troopers said a grain truck was making a left turn onto Cross Lane Road from Route 50 when it was hit from behind by a minivan driven by 70-year-old Richard Manning of California, Mo.

The crash report says Manning and the passenger in the van 74-year-old Mary Manning both died at the scene.

Richard was not wearing a seat belt but his passenger was, according to Troopers.

The driver of the grain truck was not hurt in the crash, according to the Highway Patrol.

This is Troop F's 5th and 6th fatalities for the month of October.
