Bridge over Salt Creek on Highway 240 in Howard County closed due to structural issues

A bridge on Highway 240 bridge over Salt Creek in Howard County closed due to structural issues Thursday night.

It is unknown how long the closure will be in place, according to a Missouri Department of Transportation spokesman.

MoDOT crews were doing routine maintenance on the bridge when they noticed irregularities, according to the spokesman. Crews then alerted inspectors.

Inspectors will be working to determine the full extent of the issues.
