Two dead, three hurt following crash in Camden County
CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ
Two people were killed Friday evening after a crash involving three vehicles in Camden County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on northbound Highway Five north of Mt. Horeb Road.
Troopers say, 24-year-old Ashley Dinkins was driving when she tried to pass another car, when she was hit by a semi-truck.
Two people were ejected from the car, 21-year-old Jasmine Chaplain and 26-year-old Christopher Trout were both pronounced dead on scene, according to online crash reports.
Troopers say, Chaplain and Trout were not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Dinkins, suffered moderate injuries and another passenger in her vehicle, 27-year-old Damion Croft suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the second car, 32-year-old Samantha Lucas also suffered moderate injuries when Dinkins car hit the front of her car.
All there were taken to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt, troopers said.
This is Troop F's 60th and 61st fatality of 2022.
