Columbia Police trying to locate suspect in Clark Lane shooting

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Police are still working to find out more details and locate a suspect in a shooting that happen in the 3300 block of Clark Lane Saturday evening.

Officers are asking anyone in the community who knows something, to contact police right away.

Columbia Police say around 7:45 p.m on Saturday evening, officers responded to a shots fired call. When ABC 17 News crews arrived on scene, they saw two evidence markers and six police units in the area.

After investigating, officers later found one male victim in the 4500 block Rice Road. Police said they believe the victim was driven a block away, but they are not sure the reason for him leaving the scene.

CPD and The Boone County Sheriff’s Office say they provided aid to the victim until EMS arrived for transportation. The man was later taken to a local hospital in an unknown condition according to police.

On Sunday, ABC 17 News Crews stopped in the Cracker Barrel on Clark Lane get more details about what happened in the area. However, they crews due to their policy, they will not comment.  

Officers also say they do not believe there is a threat to the community.
