Two local colleges will hold in-person graduation ceremonies this weekend after having commencement ceremonies disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

William Woods University is returning to traditional commencement ceremonies with no restrictions on who can attend, no seating requirements and mask mandates.

The university will host two ceremonies, one for undergraduate students and one for graduate students, and is anticipating 300 graduates Saturday. Both the undergraduate ceremony and graduate ceremony will be held at the McNutt Auditorium with undergraduate ceremony set for 10 a.m and graduate ceremony beginning at 2 p.m.

University President Jeremy Moreland will deliver the commencement address at both ceremonies.

Columbia College will also hold its in-person graduation ceremonies this weekend. Each ceremony will be open to all master's, bachelor's and associate degree graduates.

The college's spring commencement ceremonies will begin at 11 a.m and 2:30 p.m Saturday at the Southwell Gymnasium.
