On Sunday, 48 states, except Hawaii and most of Arizona, will move their clocks forward an hour as part of daylight saving time.

Daylight saving time was created as a temporary measure during World War I and was initially known as “war time” to help conserve fuel and resources.

A study by Chmura Economics & Analytic estimated that daylight saving time costs the U.S. at least $430 million annually.
