Columbia Public Schools, Southern Boone and Fulton cancel classes ahead of winter storm
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Columbia Public Schools sent out a text Wednesday just before 4:30 p.m. saying that due to the timing of arrival of weather with the potential for icy surfaces, sleet, snow, classes will not be in session Thursday.

Southern Boone announced will switch to virtual learning/AMI for students and staff on Thursday in a news release late Wednesday afternoon.
The Fulton School District called to cancel classes due to the weather just before 9 p.m. They cited the poor driving conditions and winter weather for the snow day.
Chief Meteorologist Jessica Hafner is reporting the first wave of wintry precipitation has started to accumulate as a thick layer of sleet across southern Missouri, with mostly light but steady snow for areas south of I-70 in Mid-Missouri including Jefferson City and the Lake of the Ozarks.
