Kansas man charged after allegedly assaulting Camden County Sheriff’s Deputy after a vehicle chase

LAKE OZARK, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Camden County prosecutor has charged a Kansas man after a vehicle chase ended and the man allegedly assaulted a deputy while trying to escape.

Daniel Hague is charged with first-degree assault and resisting arrest.

On Saturday, a Camden County Sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle speeding on Horseshoe Bend Parkway. The deputy was able to subdue the suspect at the hotel entrance. Hague allegedly resisted arrest by hitting the deputy multiple times with a sharp object causing numerous cuts to the deputy’s forehead and near the deputy’s eye.

Officials say the deputy was taken to Lake Regional hospital, where he was treated for his injuries. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Hague is being held in the Camden County Adult Detention Facility without bond. A bond hearing is scheduled for Thursday.

According to the release, more charges are expected to be filed at a later date.
