Shots fired call at Providence and Business Loop sends one to hospital after being shot by BB gun

Columbia police responded to a report of shots fired on northbound Providence at Business Loop around 10:40 p.m.

Boone County Joint Communications is reporting northbound Providence at Business Loop closed due to a police incident at 10:40 p.m.

Columbia police responded to a report of shots fired on northbound Providence at Business Loop around 10:40 p.m.

CPD report one person was shot with a BB gun. The person had a small wound and was bleeding. The victim went to the hospital to make sure the BB was not in their body.

CPD says they believe it was juveniles shooting the BB guns.

Police report a similar call around downtown earlier Thursday night. CPD also believes this incident involved a BB gun.

Nine minutes after the initial alert, BCJC reports Providence at Business Loop is back open.
