SATURDAY UPDATES: Missouri’s 7-day positivity rate at 5 percent
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 381 news cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the total to 496,157 through the pandemic.
The state also corrected the number of probable antigen cases throughout the pandemic to 80,412, more than a 11,000 case decrease. The state says it went through and deleted duplicates from the same person reporting a positive PCR test and an antigen test.
One news death was reported on Saturday. The total number of deaths caused by COVID-19 is now at 8,635 throughout the state.
Missouri's 7-day positivity rate hit 5% on Saturday, after climbing throughout the past few weeks.
The state's dashboard reported a substantial drop in COVID-19 relates hospitalizations on Saturday, now at 796. That is 22 less than Friday. Of those, 130 are on ventilators.
In the fight against COVID-19, 3,376,471 doses of the vaccine are in the arms of Missourians as of Saturday.
About 34% of the state's population has initiated the vaccine process, meaning 2,083,446 people have at least one shot.
Of those, 1,408,344 have completed the process, which is about 22.9% of the population. Patients are consider fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose.
