One person in hospital after ‘apparent’ stabbing in downtown Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person in in the hospital after they were found with "apparent stab wounds" in downtown Columbia.

Police shut down the intersection of 10th and Locust while investigating the incident.

Police on the scene said they responded to a call around 6:50 p.m. about an assault on the street over, then found the victim at that intersection. The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition as of 9:15 p.m.

According to an ABC 17 News crew on scene, 10th was blocked off from Cherry to Elm and Locust was blocked off from Hitt to 9th.

Police on the scene said 2 people were detained in connection to the stabbing, but they are looking for another suspect and witnesses.

The University of Missouri sent out an alert about the incident.
