MU police arrest fugitive at a gas station; officer assault and patrol vehicle damaged

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

University of Missouri police detained a man with a past history of stealing bikes after seeing if he had any open warrants.

According to court documents, Gabriel Paddock was detained and lied about his name to officers. Paddock also had a machete in his possession at the time of the arrest.

Paddock resisted arrest and damaged the patrol vehicle according to police.

Paddock is charged with 1st-degree property damage, 3rd-degree assault, resisting arrest and making a false report.

Paddock has a $10,000 cash only bond.

Boone County has not updated Paddock's mug shot at the time of this reporting.
