Tracking Sunday rain and storms
SUNDAY: Rain will be sticking with us all day long as a cold front pushes through the viewing area. We could see some embedded thunderstorms however, these storms will not be severe, just a rumble of thunder or two. It will also be windy with gusts up to 30 mph from the southeast. Our temperatures will be spring-like with highs near 50 degrees.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Rain will come to an end and we could see a flurry as the system exits. We will be dropping below freezing overnight so black ice could be a possibility heading into Monday morning from standing water leftover from Sunday's rain; so take caution. Lows in the middle 20's.
EXTENDED: Monday we will be cooler with highs in the upper 30's which is fairly average with mostly cloudy skies. Our next system that will shake up our weather pattern is coming in on Wednesday likely in the morning. This system will be comprised of two cold fronts and two waves of precipitation. The first wave will likely start as snow Wednesday morning and then turn into rain as we head towards the high-temperature od around 40 degrees and the second wave will start as rain in front of another cold front that will turn into the snow once we fall back below freezing. There is still lots of time to let models resolve this system a bit better but it is something to keep in mind as we head towards the middle of the workweek. After that, we will be working our way back up to the 40's by Saturday with lots of sunshine for the weekend.
