Gloomy day moving in

THURSDAY: Cooler air is moving in right now, along with rain from the south. Still thinking the best chance to see more consistent rain throughout the day will be south of I-70, with it being a bit more hit-and-miss north. Rain amounts will be relatively light, but it will help keep temperatures in the 40s in many spots this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Those scattered showers stick around into the evening before beginning to taper off after daybreak Friday. Overnight lows will fall to near 40.

EXTENDED: We’ll move that rain out Friday morning and start clearing out by the afternoon. Temperatures will be stuck in the low 50s to close out the week, which will just be a taste of things to come. Rain chances return on Saturday as another system works its way up from the Gulf Coast, bringing slightly better rain chances to our eastern half. Sunday looks manageable with sunshine returning and temperatures reaching the low 60s , but a cold week looks in store. The first part of the week will feature highs in the 50s and overnight lows in the freezing range. A disturbance moving in during that time-frame could time up poorly, opening the door to see some snowflakes.
