PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 4-year-old Sedalia boy died Sunday in a UTV crash in the 25000 block of Liberty School Road in Pettis County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Crash occurred as a 2022 Canam UTV – driven by April Headley, 34, of Sedalia – was driving north through a yard and made a sharp left turn, according to the report. The turn caused the UTV to overturn and eject the boy, who was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic, according to the report.

He was transported to Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, according to the report. He was using a safety device, the report states.

Three other children from Sedalia -- a 3-year-old boy, a 6-year-old girl and a 7-year-old girl – were also passengers in the vehicle and suffered minor injuries, the report states. None of those three were wearing safety devices. All three were brought to Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia, the report states.

None of the children were named in the report.
