Minor injuries reported in Saline County helicopter crash

MARSHALL, Mo. (KMIZ)

A helicopter pilot walked away with only minor injuries after a crash Sunday in Saline County.

The Robinson 44 helicopter was spraying crops west of Marshall when it crashed near Highway 20 and Green Avenue on Sunday afternoon, according to a Saline County Sheriff's Department incident report. The chopper hit a wire and lost control, landing hard and rolling over in a field, according to the report.

The pilot was able to walk away, the sheriff's department said. The pilot's name was not revealed in the report. Cedar Ridge Aviation was named in the report as being involved in the crash.

The FAA is investigating, according to the report.
