RANDOLPH COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

No one was hurt in a New Year's Eve house fire in Randolph County.

Firefighters with the Eastern Randolph Fire Protection District were sent to the 2000 block of Route YY near Moberly at about 5 p.m. Tuesday, district chief Dave Gaines said. Crews were there until 10:30 p.m. and went back at about 1 a.m. after the fire rekindled, he said.

Several agencies helped the district fight the blaze, including the Missouri Department of Transportation, which used salt to help melt ice on the road, the district said in a Facebook post.

The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze and the American Red Cross is helping the family who lived in the house, Gaines said.
