Emergency crews rescue man who fell off cliff in Pulaski County

PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man was seriously injured Monday after falling off a cliff in Pulaski County.

According to a Facebook post from the Waynesville Rural Fire Protection District, emergency crews were called to the incident around 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Once rescue crews got to the scene, they found a man about 300 feet up a hillside at the bottom of a rock cliff. The man had fallen while climbing the cliff.

WRFPD said Phelps Air established a landing zone near the rescue and then took the man to a Columbia hospital for treatment.

The Fort Leonard Wood Fire Department, Pulaski County Ambulance District, Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, Pulaski County 911 Communications, and Missouri State Highway Patrol all assisted in the incident.
