One dead after ATV crash in Pettis County

PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

An ATV crash in Pettis County killed one person and injured two others.

Crews received a call just before 11:30 Friday evening.

According to Missouri State Highway Crash reports, the 2007 Polaris RZR was going through a heavily wooded area near Allen Road. That's when it went down a steep embankment and overturned, ejecting one passenger from the ATV.

The report said a passenger, Mariah Nevils, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, 32-year-old Joseph Schwermer, and another passenger, 32-year-old Joshua Elam, were taken to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. They both had serious injuries.
