COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified the woman killed in a crash Monday on Highway 50 in Morgan County.

The patrol says Karen Overmiller, 70, of Four Seasons, Missouri died in the four-vehicle crash that shut down the highway. The patrol says the crash happened when Overmiller's vehicle was approaching another vehicle stopped to make a left turn onto Highway 5. Overmiller's vehicle suddenly crossed the center line and sideswiped the vehicle that was waiting to make a left turn before hitting two other vehicles, according to the patrol crash report.

Overmiller was pronounced dead at the scene. Another woman, Loretta Needham, 80, of Eldon, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital. She was the driver of one of the other vehicles involved in the crash, the patrol reported.

The drivers of the two other vehicles were not injured.
