NEW FLORENCE, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Transportation announced in a Thursday press release that a bridge replacement and interchange project is entering its final stages.

New eastbound on-and-off-ramps, Tree Farm Road and a south roundabout will be open Friday at Highway 19 and Interstate 70 in New Florence.

Construction continues on the eastern portion of the north roundabout and islands on the south roundabout.  Some traffic restrictions, including nightly lane closures from 7 p.m.-6 a.m., may still apply for areas leading up to and around the highway.

According to the press release, the following traffic restrictions still apply:

  • The North Outer Road, Booneslick, will open from Highway 19 to FastLane, but will have right-in/right-out only access at Highway 19.  Drivers wishing to travel northbound on MO 19 from the North Outer Road/Booneslick will continue to use Clark Drive.
  • Upon exiting westbound Interstate 70, traffic will detour onto the temporary off-ramp and onto a portion of the North Outer Road/Booneslick.  This detour will accommodate one-way traffic only and access to businesses will be right-in/right-out only
  • The North Outer Road/Booneslick will be closed to eastbound traffic between Highway 19 and Coop Road.
  • The Interstate 70 westbound on-ramp will reopen from southbound Highway 19. Northbound Highway 19 traffic will access this ramp by taking Clark Drive to the North Outer Road.
