Large power outage hits Ameren customers in Montgomery County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

More than 1,500 Ameren Missouri customers in Montgomery County were without power Tuesday afternoon.

The utility's outage map reported the power cut at about 3 p.m. At about 4:15 p.m., 1,572 customers remained without power. Power was restored before 6 p.m.

Ameren said it had a crew at the scene working on the outage emanating from the Montgomery City substation.

Storms moved through Mid-Missouri overnight into Tuesday, with some packing heavy rain. It wasn't immediately known if weather contributed to the outage. Storms dropped 1.29 inches of rain at Sanborn Field in Columbia.
