Moniteau County traffic stop leads to arrest on drug charges

MONITEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A traffic stop due to speeding leads to a an arrest in Moniteau County for drug charges.

According to the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 50 just east of Wieneke Branch Road.

Deputies made contact with the driver and observed marijuana inside the vehicle.

According to officials they found meth in the vehicle as well.

Deputies arrested Luis A. Narvaez Fonseca, 49, of Jefferson City, was then taken into custody and transported to the Moniteau County Jail.

Fonseca was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of marijuana and driving while revoked/suspended.

Fonseca's bond is set at $25,000.
