COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Moberly Mayor Brandon Lucas has picked Mike Skubic to replace outgoing Councilman Austin Kyser, according to a social media post from the city.

Kyser won the Randolph County Western District Commissioner seat in a landslide on Nov. 5. He officialy resigned from his council seat on Tuesday, the post says.

“We thank Councilman Kyser for nearly six years of dedicated service to our city and wish him all the best in his new role. We look forward to continuing our partnership with him at the county level,” the post says.

Skubic will serve the remainder of Kyser’s term. The post says Skubic is the senior vice president at First State Community Bank in Moberly. He has previously served on the Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors “and is involved in various civic and volunteer initiatives,” the post says.
