The City of Moberly announced on its social media Friday that the Moberly City Council recently approved pay increases for the Moberly Police Department.

This pay increase will allow new officers to earn up to $47,000 a year, not including any overtime or holiday pay, the post states. The City chose to increase pay to make Moberly more competitive with other cities in terms of recruiting new officers.

Pay Increases were also given to help the department’s current employees, the post states.
