Moberly man charged with second-degree murder after an overdose death
MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Randolph County prosecutor has charged Dustin Pool with second-degree murder after an overdose death in Jan. 2022.
The Moberly Police Department and the North Missouri Drug Task Force investigated the death of a Moberly resident.
During the investigation, officials learned the resident died from an overdose of fentanyl which was allegedly supplied by Pool, according to a release.
During the investigation, law enforcement searched the social media account of the victim and found a connection between Pool and the victim, according to court documents.
During a message exchange between the victim and Pool, the victim asked Pool if the drugs were any good and Pool told the victim that the drugs were" killers.. so be careful."
During a search warrant at a residence on the 400 block of Monroe Ave. in Moberly, police found meth and other opiates there, according to court documents.
Pool is currently incarcerated in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Pool is scheduled for arraignment on next Monday.
Online court records indicate that Pool does not have a lawyer at this time.
