Sheriff’s Office: Man shot in Phelps County
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A 59-year old man was shot in Phelps County on Sunday morning, the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department wrote on its Facebook page on Monday.
The sheriff’s office wrote that deputies were called at 10:37 a.m. to the 19000 block of Highway 63 South, about 10 miles south of Rolla. The post says a “domestic disturbance” occurred between the man and a 59-year-old woman.
The man had a gunshot wound in his chest, but the post does not say who fired the weapon. He was flown to University Hospital in Columbia. The woman was detained, questioned and released.
The post says that once the investigation is complete, if will be forwarded to the Phelps County Prosecutor’s Office.
