A grocery store chain has announced a new deli partnership amid a listeria outbreak with Boar’s Head.

Schnucks – which has locations in Columbia and Jefferson City – will begin offering Dietz and Watson’s Premium Meats and Artisan Cheeses next month, according to a Wednesday press release from the company.

"Schnucks’ delis will begin the conversion to Dietz & Watson products in early November with a full deli conversion anticipated by early December," the release says.

A Schnucks spokesperson wrote in an email that it will offer Dietz and Watson’s in place of Boar’s Head.

Boar’s Head has been dealing with a listeria outbreak since the summer. Multiple deaths have been linked to the outbreak and recalls have been announced by the CDC.

“We’ve listened to feedback from our customers and believe that Dietz & Watson’s broad assortment of premium deli options will be exactly what customers are looking for as they shop with us to feed their families,” Schnucks Vice President of Deli & Prepared Foods Geoff Wexler said in a press release. “With this new partnership, our customers can look forward to delicious, high-quality meats, artisan cheeses, snacks and condiments.”
