ABC 17 NEWS

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Three people are in the hospital recovering from injuries after an afternoon crash in Boone County Saturday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, the crash happened around 2:00 p.m. on Highway 63 at Peabody Road.

Troopers say 59-year-old Curtis D. Hart, of Columbia Missouri, and Ahlea L. Rogers, 41, of Warsaw Missouri were traveling together North on Highway 63. Ricky L. Hensley, 58, of Warsaw Missouri was traveling north on Highway 63 as well.

MSHP says Rogers and Hart were traveling directly behind Hensley when Hensley slowed his vehicle down to make a turn.

Hart, who was driving, didn't notice the change in Hensley's vehicle's speed as he was trying to turn and swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting Hensley's vehicle. As a result, Hart and Rogers crashed into the right side of Hensley's vehicle and all three were ejected, according to MSHP.

Hart and Rogers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash but Hensley was not. Hart was by EMS to MU Healthcare with serious injuries. All three people were taken to University hospital, but Rogers only suffered minor injuries.
