QUESTION OF THE DAY: Should the state stop paying federal coronavirus unemployment?

MGN Online

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson said Tuesday that the state will stop paying special federal coronavirus unemployment benefits on June 12.

The push is on in many Republican-led states to cut off the benefits, with leaders saying the payments ($300 per week on top of state unemployment) are giving unemployed workers a reason not to take jobs. Supporters of the benefits, including President Joe Biden, say the money is still needed as the economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic continues.
