MoDOT asks for public comment on 2022 Sorrels overpass bridge rehabilitation project

MGN Online

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking public comment on the rehabilitation of the Sorrels Overpass bridge over Interstate 70 west of Columbia.

MoDOT officials say the rehabilitation of the 63-year-old bridge is necessary to extend the life and usability of the bridge by up to 30 years.

Crews will close the overpass during work and occasional lane closures are likely in both directions of I-70.

This project is expected to begin and be completed in 2022.

Motorists and area residents can ask questions or provide feedback on this project using the digital comment form at modot.org/sorrelsoverpass. The online public comment period is open through May 21.
