Southern Missouri Amber Alert canceled after child returned to law enforcement
UPDATE - According to social media, the Amber alert for the missing child from Ava was returned safely to law enforcement by the suspect.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert Friday afternoon a 5-year-old was forcibly taken from his home in southern Missouri.
Troopers say a 53-year-old man took his son from a residence in Ava.
The alert said the man went to the home, assaulted the child's mother and fired a gun when he took child.
