Woman shot after allegedly driving at Springfield officer

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Police in Springfield, Missouri, say an officer shot a woman who tried to hit the officer with a car.

The incident happened about 6 a.m. Tuesday on a business parking lot.

Police describe the woman’s injuries as non-life threatening.

Police spokeswoman Jasmine Bailey told the Springfield News-Leader that an officer spotted a woman who was driving a stolen vehicle and tried to stop her.

She allegedly drove at the officer who fired several shots at the car.

The woman fled the scene but she was found by police a short time later.
