55 rescued dogs to be put up for adoption
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Fifty-five dogs removed from an eastern Missouri breeder in October will be put up for adoption after a judge awarded custody to the Humane Society of Missouri.
The St. Louis-based organization removed the dogs from the property of a breeder in Franklin County.
The dogs — mostly basset hounds and basset-mixes — have been receiving veterinary care after being found with varying stages of malnutrition, the organization said Monday.
Some of the dogs will require continuing veterinary care and some will need additional socialization after spending much of their life in confined environments, the society said.
All of them will be spayed and neutered before adoption.
