Rescue crews searching along Gasconade River for missing Fort Leonard Wood soldier

PULASKI COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Several law enforcement agencies are searching for a missing soldier based at Fort Leonard Wood.

According to a news release from the U.S. Army base, Specialist Joshua J. Morrison was last seen in Waynesville, Missouri. Morrison was in the area of Ruby's Landing after kayaking on the Gasconade River.

Authorities could not confirm when Morrison was last seen.

According to the release, first responders from Fort Leonard Wood, special agents with the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department and the Waynesville Fire Department are conducting search and rescue operations along the Gasconade River.
