Missing Macon woman last seen at Columbia hotel found safe

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE: The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Thursday afternoon that Schwebach had been found safe.

ORIGINAL: The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Macon County deputies started searching for an elderly Macon woman after she was last seen at a Columbia hotel.

The patrol said in a news release 72-year-old Barbara A. Schwebach was last seen around 7:40 a.m. Wednesday at the LaQuinta Inn hotel at 2500 I-70 Dr. SW.

Troopers said Schwebach was released from a medical facility before checking into the hotel.

Hotel workers said she walked away from the business, according to the release.

Anyone with information on Schwebach's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Macon County Sheriff's Department at 660-385-2062.
